NvHint1 ectodermal expression continues into polyp stage. Expression is primarily in ectoderm, although a few endodermal cells associated with the pharynx of the polyp may also express NvHint1. NvHint1 expression appears concentrated in ectodermal cells located at the tentacle but tips orally and at the aboral end, likely associated with the apical tuft of the planula. Expression is seen in the cell bodies, which are located towards the basal surface of the epithelium.
